I had a quick look on the Porsche websites and I must say I am puzzled by the price difference per EU country.
Makes sense to me to buy one in Germany and bring it back to Portugal...
ok I did not check the Macan standard configuration per country but knowing Porsche I am sure it s the same everywhere in EU.
New Macan 2.0L price from Porsche website (per country)
Spain : EUR 66.498,00
Italia : EUR 61.763,00
Portugal : EUR 73 830,00 - Wow !!
France : EUR 60 860,00
Belgium : EUR 62.194,00
Nederland : EUR 85.600,00 – must be a mistake!!
Luxembourg : EUR 58.886,10
Germany : EUR 58.763,00
UK : : £ 46,344.00 (£1 = 1.13€) = EUR 52.368,72
so where to buy a 2019 Macan ... in Europe?

The difference is probably down to different Tax rates in each country. Netherlands is traditionally high as they punish higher emission cars as do Scandinavian countries.Frenchy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 12:20 pm I had a quick look on the Porsche websites and I must say I am puzzled by the price difference per EU country.

Do check on the rules in Portugal.
A car sourced in Germany will have German plates and there may well be a time limit on being able to keep the car in Portugal before you have to register it there and upon registering you may have tax to pay.

The Netherlands adds a 30% luxury tax to cars. The price seems correct. When it was still fashionable to import your own cars in the late 1990s, I bought a British build Rover 200 - £4k cheaper in NL than the UK sticker price. Because the car was exported from NL back to GB, you wouldn't pay the luxury tax nor local VAT. Once you registered the car with the DVLA you would pay the VAT (17% at the time I believe). The other trick at the time was to ask the dealer to invoice you in GBP using an FX rate which wasn't obtainable. This would lower the GBP price and therefore VAT payable. Not proud* but it worked and got me in a car.Frenchy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 23, 2018 12:20 pm I had a quick look on the Porsche websites and I must say I am puzzled by the price difference per EU country.

I live in Belgium, buy my Porsches in Germany and drive under a Luxembourg license plate (company car). No need for German plates. Car just has to be registered in your country. Dealer takes care of that via mail.
Yes, most price differences are due to VAT differences. Although some slight equipment differences too. For example: Belgian cars have porsche tracking system and fire extinguisher as standard (hence higher price) as it is required by insurers. Not the case in Germany nor Luxembourg.
