Haven't got access to that right now, but I did spot an alternative electric Macan:

It does say “Autocar Image” on the picture which means their in house designer has created what he thinks it may look like - nothing more than that!
Steve
Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 (3 litre, 367bhp) - in the end I went for that rather than a Macan S - sorry!

What actually are the plans then? Anything new or the same 2021/22 timeline previously discussed? I presume it's going to be an all new dedicated EV platform?

Why would it be anything other than the Audi E tron thingy.....?
The Q5 spawned the Macan, logic says (to me anyway) that the same thing will happen..

Maybe because the E-tron is not really a dedicated EV platform and more like a modified ICE platform. I would expect the Macan and subsequent EV Audis to be on a newer dedicated platform.

Ah, I had assumed the E-tron was a ground-up effort, not a re-hashed platform.

Actually I'm not 100% sure it is a re-hash. But it does have clues like a transmission tunnel in the rear rather than a flat floor. I could be wrong though.

A quick check reveals that it's a development of the existing MLB platform used by the Q7 etc. Their next generation EVs from 2022 will use a new bespoke EV platform and that would be the obvious choice for a future Macan EV in that timescale.
