(In case you're wondering, got 20.6% off the RRP for a cash deal So cost to change £11k).
Update - on collection today told dozy SEAT factory had omitted the gearshift steering wheel paddles on all Sept / Oct 2018 build Leon autos. So negotiated a further discount to 24%, plus 5th yr warranty free (had paid for 4th yr) and got a full tank of fuel as compensation.

We never used the paddles on the previous Leon!!

I used to insure our cars with LV (good experience) until they became too expensive. Followed forum suggestions to enquire with Aviva. Got a better deal (than with LV) and moved. Have enquired with NFU for the last 2 years and they are just too expensive. Not by a small amount either. Geography might come into it, or that's my simplistic explanation. Over 30 years NCD (only 18 can be "claimed") so it's not my track record.
Just renewed my insurance with LV via the meerkat at £469 inc business use and bonus protect and total excess of £550. Was with Aviva last year but they were about £60 more this year and a higher excess.

I can't seems to get below 590...LV quoted me nearly 800...I'm 54, no points, no claims, nice area, sensible job, lol, most of what I would call the right answers. I insured an M3 for 450. Not happy.

Tried NFU? Tried adding another experienced driver? Tried limiting the annual mileage? Tried reducing the value on the car? Have you followed ALL the steps on Moneysavingexpert? Try speaking to a broker, if you haven't already, to see if they can explain why the quotes are coming up like that. Might be something you can't see, like credit rating perhaps?

Thanks for the advice. First Alternative at 550 is where it seems to have settled.
