In regards to my GTS ... I didn’t really think a potential loss of 10k with only 2.5 miles was great, although I did achieve more in the end but more to do with the factory shutdowns...but can’t really argue that they do loose less than other makes ... however the service costs possibly eat away into that margin to.

I still think it's a con! >60% value after 3 years? I doubt it. They might retain 60% of base price at 3 years, but how many people have a base price Macan? If you write off the £5-15k extras that everyone has then it might return 60% of the base price, but not 60% of what anyone actually paid.
Dreadful article, junk journalism.

But that’s the only way depreciation has ever been (and can be) measured; options are “written off” the majority of any residual calculation.Ian.g wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 10:04 pm I still think it's a con! >60% value after 3 years? I’d still sooner have a Macan than a BM / Merc / other volume.....

I don't know I got 93% back on my first Macan (Petrol S) with about £9K of extras after 2 years and just under 80% back on my 2nd (GTS) with about £8K of extras after just over 2 years so it's possible. I'm not sure how much I'll get back on my third (GTS) though. Oh, and according to our local OPC the Cayman (now 3 years old) is worth about 75% of what we paid for it so there is hope

+1. Although we can quibble over the finer detail of the percentages and the methods of calculation, I think we can agree that generally Porsches are near the top of the league table for value retention.Paul wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 10:08 pmBut that’s the only way depreciation has ever been (and can be) measured; options are “written off” the majority of any residual calculation. I was certainly happy with my Panamera ‘only’ losing about 14% of its value after covering 17k miles.
We won’t talk about the ‘loss’ on my Macan 2.0 after a month, as that was just down to my own stupidity!
