Am thinking of exchanging my Cayenne for
a 66 Plate Macan GTS and have read some conflicting reviews about CarPlay being standard on the GTS . According to Autoexpess it is but according to my dealer it isn’t Presumably the dealer is correct?

Depends on if a couple of modules were already installed. Try this thread.

Yes, standard from late ‘16 early ‘17 from memory when connect plus becane standard. Mine is a May ‘16 build and doesn't have it, nor did I spec connect or connect plus.
But I think you can get it as an after-market tequipment extra for £350?

I find it quite tempremantal in my Cayman

I plug in my old iPhone 5 that I now use as an iPod only via the centre console USB and it picks it up as a car play option on maybe one in 10 journeys. It recognises there is an iPod attached when I hit the source button on the PCM but rarely does it give me the option to connect as CarPlay.

It is bit of a pain as I like to be able to control my offline amazon music via the on screen app on the PCM rather than fiddling with the phone on the move

Anyone got any ideas how to make it work more often

Thanks

I have a December 2016 GTS and carplay is not standard. You have to add connect plus. I added connect plus and use carplay.

I believe carplay became standard when the price increase in 2017 happened. Midway through the year from memory.

Below from the Macan brochure December 2016

The optional Connect Plus module offers wireless Internet access and online navigation, featuring real-time traffic information in the map view of the navigation system (including GOOGLE® Earth and GOOGLE® Street View1)). The module also comes with Apple® CarPlay, which you can use to access the apps of your iPhone® conveniently from the driver’s seat – using PCM or the voice control system.

Looking further into it it could be late 2016 models may of had connect which allowed carplay?

Connect plus then have all the additional google earth etc which was optional and became standard midway into 2017.

This was when porsche names everything so similar even they didn’t know what was what 😂

Plug in a phone and test it is best.

Sounds familiar - mine was delayed by the PCM shortage and shortly after my delivery (sept ‘16) the connect option was replaced by standard connect plus?
