The new Turbo wheels look much easier to clean than the current ones which I cleaned today in the cold. Thank goodness for Bilberry wheel cleaner.
I view facelifts as a money spinner for the manufacturer unless they are fundamentally different than the original. Bet they drive the same as launch vehicles.

If you go back in time on the forum, "the lip" as universally hated when it came out. Move forward in time a little and you will find posts saying how good the car looked with it. It's definitely a Marmite feature.GMAN75 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 01, 2018 5:08 pm One thing which has carried over is that ridiculous lower plastic lip on the front end. I think it's standard on older models as well but goes when you opt for the sports design kit. Sorry is it just me or does that thing just need to be binned?! If you go for a new Macan opt for the sports design kit!
As it just appeared during 2015, I have always assumed Porsche wanted to change the airflow around the front of the car. Mind you that doesn't explain why it disappears if you spec Sports Design.

The plus £3.5k for the S over the base was what I was quoted too. Didn’t proceed with the trade in of my GTS in the end. I found the £17k loss after 21 months on a vehicle with 6500 miles a little unpalatable. Although the Crayon and Green cars that I saw looked very nice....

When I had this new design of 21” 911 Turbo wheels on my Panamera, I did find them easy to clean. It almost felt as if they had been treated with GTechniq or something similar.Cheshire Cat wrote: ↑Tue Dec 04, 2018 4:26 pm The new Turbo wheels look much easier to clean than the current ones which I cleaned today in the cold.

I think I prefer the previous turbos which I have but haven't seen the new ones in the flesh. I like the new 21" spyders when spec'd with dolomite silver, just for a change but haven't seen these either.
Time for a trip to Glasgow me thinks !!!

Actually I was hoping to see the new 20” turbo wheels, which seem to be getting good reviews.
I’m probably in a minority but think the front lip looks ok, admittedly better if painted. I don’t get the Sport Design kit at all. It seems to be £2000 to make the front look more bland, the rear look very aftermarket and add hardly noticeable side skirts IMHO! The new rear lights I think don’t look too bad, if a bit Koreanish, and when seen side by side with earlier models makes them look dated.
I understand fully why anyone would be reluctant to change out of a recent model Macan, but as a first timer the new engines were a major factor in my decision to wait as I see this as slightly more than just a Facelift.

The front Air Dam or splitter or lower lip [emoji38] is there to make a van handle more like a car, particularly at higher speeds. I am not in favour of the aesthetics, but I respect the engineering that was put into it.
I actually prefer it black, so it is less visible and blends with a road, and I know that sooner or later I will connect it with an on-ramp to the ferry, or other obstacle that I didn’t notice, so black-one will be less prone to visible damage.
