Have any of you actually seen the Porsche Active Safe working? I haven't and the dealer tells me to relax, it is there if I actually need it.
However, when I have rented cars of other brands with similar systems, they often warn me of possible dangerous situation. But, never in the Macan.
Do any of you know of a simple, and safe, way to test it?
Thanks.

It's not Porsche, but is the same type of system. Not sure you should rely on it, but if/when it does work can only be good.
Thought it was pretty good until Clarksons go!!! Think I'll rely on my reactions......

Agreed. Think all the driver aids may ultimately make us lazier/poorer drivers by relying on them too much. And computers, and the like, never fail, freeze, crash, not work etc, etc. Saying that, if they make it safer and easier that can only be a good thing. Bit undecided really. There was another piece, by Clarkson funnily enough, giving huge praise to the equivalent active safe system in the new golf he was reviewing. Being VAG, may even be the same system? Funny clip though
Agreed with the comments above about relying on your own judgement and not on gizmo's. However, I have specced active safe for the sole reason to be the last resort I were to become incapacitated by whatever emergency, medical or otherwise, to protect my fellow passengers and or road users.
