..or a press car, or an employee car, or any number of other uses......
Probably best to establish what the problem actually is before jumping to hasty conclusions about prior usage and poor workshop inspections.

Yeah - I’m not worried about the provenance of the car. It has only covered a couple of thousand miles and there were no signs of wear on the interior or exterior (I made sure to go over it both in and outside ahead of purchase). Bolton were also extremely good throughout the whole process and my salesman has been checking in since he heard there’s an issue.
The more I read the more it sounds like a loose coupling on the fuel line, but I’m far from an engineer!
I’ll get it to the dealer tomorrow morning and see what they say.

I cannot remember the specifics but there certainly were fuel issues a couple of years ago that was caused by a faulty component.
It held up delivery of Macan's for a while after they had left the factory and a retrofit occured to the vehicles affected.
There has also been breather pipe issues on the fuel tank.
Porsche keep issues close to their chest and have tended to action these via Campaigns actioned at the time of a Service visit rather than actual publicised Recalls.

Swift action from Porsche West London [and a nice coffee this morning as well].
It was a loose bracket on the fuel line. Not a big job to fix but they need a part from Germany so they have the car till next Friday...

Glad they’ve found the cause Jonackers, but shame you have to wait so long for the repair. I hope they’ve put you in a decent loaner.

Glad you are on the way to getting it sorted.
The Engineer in me says a bracket problem does not imply a fuel leak which is what would be needed for the fuel smell to permeate into the car. More likely a loose bracket had worn a slight nick in a fuel line.
