Rear Light Bar
Unless I’m mistaken, or missed the sarcasm, then the hill hold function activates the brake lights.Cheshire Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:30 pm Looks ok to me although I haven't encountered on at night. Is it also a brake light? One of my pet hates are drivers that sit in traffic with the foot on the brake blinding anyone behind. Of course, with the 'Hold' facility, this would never happen behind a Macan

I share your pet hate, which is why I use the parking brake if stationary for more than a few seconds.Cheshire Cat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 12:30 pm Looks ok to me although I haven't encountered on at night. As others have pointed out, the 'Hold' facility on a Porsche still activates those brake lights.

Except that you then have to put your foot on the brake (activating brake lights) to return the lever to drive, and also risk dazzling (and/or frightening) the car behind with the reverse lights when moving the lever to/from park. I use the handbrake if for any length of time.
Still better than sitting there lit up like a Xmas tree! I also thought that there was a delay on the reversing light coming on so moving from Park to Drive shouldn’t illuminate the reversing light?

Exactly, Guy. The simplest solution and the easiest on the eyeballs of the driver behind!

It's also what I was taught to do during my iAM training. Part of the reasoning was that this also 'settles' the car to be level, after the forward weight shift of braking - takes any strain out of suspension and brakes.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Jan 12, 2019 4:30 pmExactly, Guy.
