In the last few days WLTP figures for the facelift Macan S have appeared on the Porsche website and show in a configuration when you save it.

Fuel consumption (WLTP)
Fuel consumption low 15.6 l/100 km
Fuel consumption medium 11.0 l/100 km
Fuel consumption high 9.8 l/100 km
Fuel consumption extra-high 11.2 l/100 km
Fuel consumption combined 11.3 l/100 km
Fuel consumption combined* (model range) 23.9 - 25.7 mpg
Fuel consumption low 18.1 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption medium 25.7 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption high 28.8 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption extra-high 25.2 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption combined 25.0 mpg (UK)

I understand low approximates to city, medium to urban, high to a road and extra high to motorway. I suspect as European figures, the motorway speed is above the legal Uk max as the WLTP test specs say top speed achieved about 82 mph

It would definitely help feel and understanding if they abandoned the terms low . medium, high and extra high.

Porsche is quoting combined mpgs of:

25.7 – 28.2 for 2L Macan
23.9 – 25.7 for 3L Macan S

Quite interesting how there's not much difference between the 2L Macan and 3L Macan S. Especially if the 2L Macan is being touted as a comparatively fuel efficient model. For me, there would need to be a significant difference to even consider a 2L Macan over a 3L, especially given the small price difference.

It even looks like a heavily specced base 2L has the same mpg as a lightly specced 3L.

So a base Macan is 7% to 9% more fuel efficient than a Macan S. I'm very surprised by that. If that's true, I cannot really see much attraction to the base Macan.

A bit cheaper to purchase, a tiny bit more fuel economy, slightly smaller first year tax, and a little less on insurance. I'm going crazy - commenting on my own posts!

the comparison is clearer if you look at the more detailed figures/splits

2L
Fuel consumption low 21.7 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption medium 28.8 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption high 32.5 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption extra-high 25.9 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption combined 27.4 mpg (UK)

S
Fuel consumption low 18.1 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption medium 25.7 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption high 28.8 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption extra-high 25.2 mpg (UK)
Fuel consumption combined 25.0 mpg (UK)

So typically 2L only 2 to 3 mpg better except on the motorway where little difference. confirms my feeling the 2l is for partners as a 2nd car who want a sporty prestige SUV for the school and supermarket run. some may argue lighter front end means better handling
