You did 60-65mph on the M6 southbound Crikey, well done. Must have been 2 a.m. on a Sunday morning. I went on a relaxing potter around the lanes in west Cheshire and North Wales the other day when the Sun was out. Sunroof open, no stress and 40.4 m.p.g.. I had Mrs. Cheshire Cat with me which is probably why I potteredRhys2004 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 2:10 pm Just driven a 2L down from Lytham to Shropshire.Mainly M6 and M 56 .Just done 1000 miles and I kept it at 60 -65 mph most of the way.At Chester services it was showing average 40.2 mpg.My previous E class diesel would have been reading about 49mpg,so I am pleased about that.

I have that same engine in a SUV shaped body if it helps. Over 18000 miles I have averaged 29mpg according to the trip computer - and a couple of brim to brim checks have suggested it’s not a million miles off the truth...
On a good steady speed run (a lot of my driving is M1 from M25 to j29, followed by a few miles of country road, or M25 j20 to M3 j4a with a few miles of cross country) it can do 33 or 34. I cruise about 76 indicated on motorway, 54 through the roadwork bits..
On a more fun jaunt across country 26 to 28 is more likely. Short trips around the locality, often from cold, is more like late teens...
Hope that helps.
