In my time on this forum I have formed the view that most if not all here are people PX_ing a Porsche against the new Porsche and I accept that Porsche, BMW. Audi etc., don't want any other make of car on their forecourt other than their own marque but it must be a common occurrence for some buyers (me) to be buying a different marque and it must be a well worn path for BMW etc., to get/give a decent PX price somehow? The price I have been offered by OPC is £750 less than webuyanycar AND I am sure that the price offered by webuyanycar is the auction price. The problem (my problem) is that there is absolutely no incentive for the SE to get out of his seat or pick up the phone. With every other car I have bought I have been given a PX price before agreeing to buy the car (the incentive being . . give me a fair PX price or I will go elsewhere). So, what do I do, what are my options? Do I have any options e.g. go to another OPC and ask for a better deal?
Of course I know I can put it on Autotrader etc., and Autotrader predict £2k more that the PX price I've been offered but that's hard work.
Part Exchange
Many (most) tend to consider the purchase and p/x as one and the same transaction because it’s “easier”
If you think about it, you are (1) buying a new car, and (2) selling your used car.
Get the best price on your purchase (or “ the list price” as Porsche call it) but then get the best price for your own used car whether through we-buy-any-car, private sale via Auto-trader / Pistonheads etc (yes, hard work) or via a specialist used car buyer.

Try speaking to independent Porsche specialists as they often bid considerably higher than OPCs for good used stock, even more than private sale prices on occasion, although my experience has been with 911s rather than SUVs.
I am in a similar situation to you but not even bothered yet to get a PE offer from the OPC. I see reports on the web of good reports of this service.

Thanks - that's helpful. I will give them a go but I presume there's a timing issue there i.e. Macan due end of April so start the 'for sale' process beginning of April?pmg wrote: ↑Fri Feb 22, 2019 9:16 pm I am in a similar situation to you but not even bothered yet to get a PE offer from the OPC. Ah, I see. Okay then talk to some Audi independents and main dealers. They might be on the lookout for good used stock to retail, presuming it's not more than 3 or 4 years old and in mint condition. The problem with a part-ex at Porsche is that they will simply offload it to trade and so they're not going to offer you a decent price.
Mike Brewer, came up a few times a while back, their prices then were low.
Just giving a heads up for you if they pop up in searches.
Independents seem to offer the best prices

We must live very different lives, because I'll happily handle placing an ad and doing some PR and sales pitches to prospective buyers for £2k, and you will still get more than the dealer offers you!
You have already had good advice about selling to independants etc. I'm not so sure about Tootle, I tried them with my wifes X1 a while back and they were totaly rubbish with ridiculously low offers from traders, I sold it privately for around 20% more than the best offer we got via Tootle.

You are right and I will put it in Autotrader. I've done it before, I suspect the older I get the lazier I get. My car is in immaculate condition and a lovely ride whoever gets he will not be very happy and I should have no problems selling her I think what I am trying to avoid is the timing issue (either selling it before the Macan arrives and struggling with one car between us or having three cars on the driveway). But its a job that needs doing and it will get done.
As an aside, I note that Autotrader now offer (in with the fee (£60)) free 6 months warranty for the buyer which is comforting for the buyer. In the past I have always advertised my cars with a personal money back 24 hour guarantee which I believe helped sell them. The last car I sold, the guy drove down from Scotland, did the deal, drove back home, got a train back down here and drove away, he sent me a text from a motorway stop telling me how pleased he was with the drive - a very nice experience all round.
