342 bhp v6 diesel & electric motor 700nm
Porsche sales down maybe missing the diesel buyers
Sound great.....
New sq5
Guess it's fine - at least performance-wise for a diesel - if you're able to look past that grotesque iPad balanced on top of the central ventilation grilles. Personally i couldn't!
Considering that Porsche & Audi are all part of same VAG, it seems a little odd, this lack of 'joined up' approach to the whole diesel/hybrid way forward? Can't believe that Porsche have been 'allowed' to unilaterally withdraw from the largest selling sector without there being a larger, overarching plan in place?

Why oh why did Porsche not have a version of this engine in their 2019/20 line up?
I get for now diesel is being villainised, but there is also a lot of research saying they can produce diesels now with less NO2 pollution that equivalent petrol engines?

Agreed. The demonisation of diesel was ridiculous and has had serious consequences for manufacturers and consumers alike.Pivot wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 8:20 amKnee-jerk reaction of the regulators, amplified by the mediajesim1 wrote:Why oh why did Porsche not have a version of this engine in their 2019/20 line up?

New Macan S makes petrol SQ5 pointless IMHO. The new diesel SQ5 with mild hybrid technology makes a lot of sense. I am sticking to the diesel Macan S for some time. Interesting to understand those who got the new Macan as a 2.0T (I drove it at a PEC recently) - out of interest is this not a detuned Golf R engine in a bigger car??
Aparently particulate filters have had to be added to petrol engines now as the new variety of ultra lean efficent engines produce a lot more fine particulate matter than the more inefficient engines of a few years ago.mark-yorkshire wrote: ↑Sun Feb 24, 2019 9:34 amAgreed.
