111 Point Approved Used Vehicle Inspection.

I've just become aware that my 2017 Macan purchased 4 weeks ago originated from PC Reading, in November 2018 they completed a 111 inspection. I purchased it 3 months later from another OPC who didn't complete a 111 inspection which I thought was a condition of sale. Subsequently I found the front 12 sockets dead, I replaced the 20A fuse with the car spare and the pan roof seals were damaged which have been replaced, both these defects should have been found during the 111 inspection. I assumed the clue is in the name and the 111 Point Approved Used Vehicle Inspection is completed following a sale to confirm a vehicle meets Porsche approved used vehicle standards, anything could have happened in the 3 months between Reading inspecting my Macan and me buying it..

At what point should the 111 Point Approved Used Vehicle Inspection be completed?

Normally when the vehicle comes into stock it will be inspected prior to being advertised for sale. Its is more a pre-sale inspection designed to establish and rectify faults prior to sale (or to make the choice not to advertise the car if it isn’t upto standard)

I would be fairly sympathetic to a dealership who chose not to do a full inspection on a vehicle that had been inspected by another OPC 3 months previous (although clearly it didn't work out in your particular case!) With Reading being the Porsche owned PDI centre your dealership had every right to assume the work had been carried out diligently.

Thanks Paul, fair point, it just goes to prove that you can't even trust a brand like Porsche to do things properly and to think the pre warranty extension 111 inspection costs in excess of £200, I bet they do it properly then to cover themselves...

I bet these 111 inspections are just a visual check over. I recently brought a second hand Audi A5 from a main dealer. I brought it over the phone trusting the full inspection by Audi. When I received the car the clutch was shot and the vanity mirror was smashed. Was not impressed.!!
