When I was enquiring about the cost of a major for my 997T I was told that the menu pricing is indeed changing and where, in the past, spark plug change and brake fluid change etc were an additional item under the new scheme the price would be inclusive. Perhaps this accounts for the increase. I believe I am looking at around £2000 for the major service all in when it is due in May......

Another possible explanation is that the menu pricing on-line is from 2017 and was probably “imposed” by Porsche UK at the expense of the dealership’s labour rate.

Factor in a labour rate increase from 2018 and now 2019 as well as the potentialadditional parts (from Rigger’s post above ) and you can see why Porsche’s “own” dealerships were not participating.

Doesn’t help, but might explain.....😳

They are slippery little suckers and I would happily take mine to a good independent if it weren't for the reassurance that it's far more likely to be given a "good will" gesture should the need arise if your car has been serviced within the dealer network. Also any second purchaser will expect to see dealership stamps in the service book.

They effectively have you by the short and curlies.

And yes, WingCo a 30% increase is unconscionable

Hi Rigger. No mention of any newly inclusive parts was made in reference to the 30% jump in service charge. In both cases, the brake fluid change & air-con service (due at 24 months) would be additional, not that I'd request the air-con service.

People who have a specific set of winter tyres are in the minority. This is the first time I’ve ever bought a separate set of winter wheels/tyres, inspired by the advice of some of the folks on this forum. ❄️ :geek:

No winter tyres for me and managed to drive throughout the winter with no dramas, even in very snowy conditions. It's probably not recommended mostly due to the other plonkers on the road!

Agree on the air con front..... I never bother with this. The rate the rads get replaced I don’t need additional expense for spurious work. Am curious as to what the 997 will cost when it is finally serviced in May. But, with it still under warranty I will just bend over and ask them “how far”.......
