Hi.

Am just thinking about booking in for my 20k miles first service, as am likely to get there in the next few months and some OPCs are booking into May for a service if you want a courtesy car!

I asked two OPCs for a quote this morning. First one quoted Β£495. Second one (in same group) quoted Β£642.67!! A difference of 30% or Β£147.67!!

I replied to the second one saying 'Thanks, but I'll book with xxx". Just had a reply:

"Thank you for coming back to me. I have spoken with xxxx at Porsche Centre xxxx and she has confirmed that the cost she quoted you was off the old menu pricing, and should have been the cost that I quoted you, however xxxx has advised that as she has quoted you this price she would honour it if you wanted to book in with Porsche Centre xxxx"

So, a word to the wise, shop around for your next service! And beware as based on the above, Porsche may be in the process of increasing their service charges by 30%!!

P.S. On my recent visit to get my summer wheels/tyres put back on, the OPC that stores them said that they're introducing a charge for storage in the future (in addition to the charge for swapping them over). I was not happy with the idea of retrospectively starting to charge for storage to a client that chose that OPC on the basis that as they have on-site storage, they don't charge. I said as much when asked for feedback after my recent visit.

Hi Paul

I emailed Emma at xxxx, plus xxxx, who is based in Cardiff. xxxx in Cardiff says that he handles the bookings for all of the Porsche Centres in the group.

Cheers,

No-one shocked by a potential increase of 30% in service costs...?!

Obviously my first quote was from the service schedule that's online, that we know is not current, but this is the first I've heard of a 30% increase in costs for a routine service.
