2015 MacanS PDK petrol, 20inch spyder wheels

Hi, i would appreciate some advice/comments...
My gearbox is very 'jerky' through 1/2/3 , this is a new thing within the last year.

When reversing at lock, the car judders as if the wheels are rubbing the arches.

Has anyone else had these issues?
thanks

Have you seen the thread on transfer box replacement?

Yep, these are the classic signs of your transfer box going, I hope your car is still under warranty as I believe it's around £2/3k for the work if down outside of it? Even if my car was out of warranty I think I'd speak politely, but strongly to the dealer as it's a known fault, you could even get the cost back through trading standards/county court with such a recent car if Porsche don't help out.

That's the transfer box alright, I'm afraid.

Does it also not happen when cold, but only when up to temperature?

Book it in at the OPC, mine was changed in 2 days, along with the 20k service. Done without any quibble.

i think we are a year out of warranty now.. but did have the big 30k service a couple of months ago.

whats the OPC stance when out of warranty?😢

Mine was done at 2.5 years so no issue.

Legally they are on safe ground but I would expect at least a 50% contribution as it's a known and well documented fault.
There's always a 'sale of goods' complaint but I would expect some goodwill from the OPC rather than a protracted legal battle.

Bear in mind that the OPC told me it was a 2 and a half grand job.

You may get some goodwill but it will depend on how many owners the car has had, whether the service history is “full Porsche”, whether it was purchased throught the network etc..

First port of call is your local dealership, then your supplying dealer (if different) then Porsche Customer services in Reading.

I believe I read on here somewhere that someone else had an out of warranty replacement and Porsche UK paid for the box but the owner had to pay for the labour. Not the most generous of compromises as Porsche labour rates are pretty astronomical
