So mine is about to have its third birthday and is going to get an MOT and of course, not being South Korean, will need a warranty extension.
Usually if my cars need an MOT I'd go to a local place that doesn't charge unless it passes and has no workshop to do repairs, so is immune from finding things that need fixing even when they don't really.
However, it looks like to extent warranty you need a 111 point check to see if it's ok, so I'll probably combine the two at my local OPC.
Porsche say that anything found in the 111 point check is charged to the customer, but if anything's broken, the car is still under factory warranty so should be fixed right? Obvs not tyres, etc.
Porsche want £800 for a year, £1440 for two.
£880/1520 if I let the current warranty just expire.
Almost tempting to let it lapse.

I have never taken out extended warranties on any car I have owned over the last 30 years. I have always had a German car and have had 2 cars each for over 10 years in that time. I don’t intend extending the warranty come October either on the Macan. I will also not extend the warranty of the 718 next year either
If things start going wrong with them, I will sell. All personal choice of course and fits with my risk profile with vehicle purchases and maintenance

I extended for two years at the same time as the MOT. I didn't get charged for the 111 point check, which I was pleased about especially as I had only used that OPC once before, and that was for a new transfer box (under warranty).
I didn't bother extending the Breakdown cover, and now rely on the free breakdown service provided by my Nationwide account. I did check with Nationwide first that I'd be able to get the car recovered to a Porsche OPC if it didn't start at home, and luckily they will transport it up to 10 miles. Porsche Wolverhampton is 9.9 miles away
I did get an 'Advisory' on the first MOT which was a bit annoying at only about 18,000 miles: 'Rear brake disc worn, pitted or scored, but not seriously weakened'.

I am not planning to extend mine when that time comes. My expectation is that if the car is well looked after (with timely service carried out by an OPC) then post year 3 trouble-free motoring will hopefully result. However I know that there is still a risk of unexpected, costly repair bills....even if Porsche is the greatest car brand in the world

The issue I'd have with extending the warranty is paying circa £200 for the 111 point inspection and the OPC misses the amount of things that were missed on the presale inspection completed before I purchased my approved pre owned Macan. I have access to a recommended independent Porsche specialist closer than the nearest OPC who will lock after my Macan for significantly less cost than the OPC, if I ever keep a Porsche outside the manufacturers warranty I'd consider this route....

The 111 point check is only required if the car is over 12 months old.
I have never extend a cars warranty except the Macan.
I did this in the first year so no 111 point check or additional costs. Plan is to keep it for 5 years.
I think part of the reason to extend was the transfer box issues which I have had replaced already anyway.
After recently visiting the 992 event I am waiting for a 992 GTS announcement to reconsider.
OPC have offered to fully refund the 2 year extension warranty if part ex before it starts which I thought was very fair.
Let’s see what announcements there will be around September time.

It's a difficult one, I understand the extended warranty doesn't cover trim, I'm not sure what comes under the definition of trim. The pan roof seals on my Macan have been replaced under the warranty looks like they may have been snagged by the sliding mechanism. compared to my Q5's and GLC these seals on the Macan seem incredibly fragile. Would this be covered under the extended warranty or is it classed as trim, replacement cost is £800 plus. It's pretty easy to tell if seal damage is due to wear and tear or not....

I recently had a snapped drivers window switch replaced under warranty. I had to take it in before the original warranty ended because it wasn't
covered under the extended warranty as it was considered trim (despite being essential to opening the window)
Looking on the USA Porsche forums it's a very common fault too.

I took out 2 years extended W due to peacefull nights.
Never had occasion to take the macan to the OPC as nothing went wrong in nearly 4 years of ownership.
But I wanted cover for theknown Diesal and transmission issues which would be very costly.
Don't know if the extended W helped when I recently sold it or not.
