I have followed with interest the threads regarding OPC v detailer with respect to the application of Gtechniq ceramic coating and understand the difference in the level of quality provided by a detailer but one quick question.....has anyone received a quote from their OPC for Gtechnique application on the new Macan S and if so could they advise the price quoted.
Thanks
PB

I dont think OPCs offer Gtechniq. Atleast they did not last year. They do offer SwissVax.

Gtechniq crystal serum can only be applied by certified detailers. You can get the list from Gtechniqs website.

The cost depends on the condition of your paintwork etc but should cost you around 1000gbp for a full detail

£660 from leicester opc

their offer below
The first is a G-Technic Platinum detailing process .Please see attached, the product
brochure for this, along with a promotional video, which can be viewed here

As you can see, the Platinum product forms a ceramic coating on your vehicle, which helps
keep it in pristine condition. Unlike many other after-market paint protection systems, G-
Technic Platinum forms a ceramic coating on the exterior of the car which can only be
removed by professional machine polishing. It cannot be removed by car-washes etc, and
needs no maintenance.
The interior is treated along with the wheels and windows to make them hydro-phobic.
The whole system is available for £660, which represents excellent value, for a premium
product.

The key is ensuring the existing paintwork is in perfect condition before they apply the product. That is where OPCs fail as they dont have the time to do such a thorough job. Things could have changed but I would take it to them.

Also depends on which Gtechniq product is being used in the Platinum package

That's all the info I have, they emailed me that exact wording after placing deposit, I didn't enquire or order it.

My OPC has quoted a “negotiable” £799 for internal & external protection using Gtechniq “generation 3”.

The thing to ask the OPC is how long they will keep the car for, the process should take at least 3 days, to allow for proper paint correction treatment and curing. I would advise going to a specialist detailer; who do this as their day job. Not sure about the OPCs but many other dealers do not offer a professional service. I would ask for a breakdown in who does it and the process they go through.

The relevant person at the OPC would of had some training to apply what they offer which is a Gtechniq Platinum. Yes nice name makes it sound a superior product. Costs around £699 and you get a nice pack to go with it with Gtechniq products.

Personally i went directly to an accredited Gtechniq detailer who spent 4 days on my car in the correct enclosed environment. Apart from all the paint correction work they did they applied Gtechniq Black topped with exo. Every part of the vehicle was done.

Over 2 years later it’s beading very well.
It cost me a little more than the above quoted price back then but I do know prices have gone up since then.

I had to book almost 3 months in advance. Have Gtechniq on all my cars and can’t fault it.

Give me a brick and cement and I will build you a wall. Give it to a builder and they will do it far better than me.
It’s who applies and prepares the car which is the most important imo.

As always if you don’t plan to wash the car yourself I wouldn’t waste your money.

Just had a message from the service guy at the OPC saying that Gtechniq was wrongly quoted by the sales guy, it is in fact Gen3-Glasscoat.
