Surely the tolerances for the build on the transmission should account for a very wide tolerance on the tyres, if the state of the tyres can have an effect on the former?

Presumably the limit of such tolerance is the 30% given in the handbook.

Thanks Simon. I’m sure it will but a nuisance in the meantime. Having said that I’m clearly going to have commit to the repair and replacement(s) and then possibly argue with UPS.

And we dislike the Merc we’ve got c/o Porsche Assist - but shouldn’t complain. (So pleased I extended the cover.) There’s nothing particularly to dislike about it and I think that’s the reason. It’s just reasonably good. Except for the ride which is a bit jiggly (AMG wheels). And the instrument display...

I'm thinking the tolerance should be more like 5 %

Make the hardware more robust.
