Getting mixed views on what needs to be done at 4 year service, car has covered 30k miles.

OPC want £950 for service but since it’s no longer under warranty etc I’m hard pushed to take it to the main dealer. However every other garage I call doesn’t seem to have a clue what actually needs doing.

I can’t work out if Porsche will change the PDK oil and filter at this point as it says 4 years but other places saying 6 years.

Same for air filters, doesn’t seem to say Porsche will replace them (is there two?) but backstreet garages saying they’ll replace.

Fuel filter? Pollen filter? What makes it a major service at 4 years over a minor?

Most places quote same price for SD as petrol S even though the petrol S includes spark plugs at 4 years from what I can see.

Best bet us to look in your service book; there'll be a full schedule in there by model.

Here is what you need, taken direct from PGB website. The fixed price menu through participating dealers. The SD would be £950. Welcome to the world of Porsche you could use a independent Porsche specialist if there are any near you.

If you are not bothered about an OPC servicing your Macan you can always use an independent.

If you want to use an OPC ring around others.

My 2 year service of my Turbo with brake fluid change was £525 as per the pricing shown in this post and not as shown on MikeM’s pricing file where using those prices it should have been £695.

I cannot explain why there are two pricing models.

I received this from Portsmouth last week...

Macan S Diesel , Major Service including Brake Fluid change £750.00 inc VAT
Air Con Reg gas £115.00.

I also asked about the PDK oil change..

I have just checked with a gold technician and the PDK Gearbox Oil and filter change is due at 40,000 miles or 6 year service.
The cost is £454.00 inc VAT.

Thanks for the info, I rang both Wilmslow and Wolverhampton, Wilmslow quoted £680 for service and £150 for brake fluid change, Wolverhampton quoted the £950 shown above.

Wilmslow said gearbox oil not needed until 6 years or 40k (so another year), Wolverhampton said due now at 4 years.

Rang two Porsche independent specialists and their prices are only marginally cheaper, not really worth not going to Porsche at that point, local Autocentre is £200, whole things a minefield.

Hi Col. Hope you're well. Servicing prices recently increased, a lot. Your image may be of the old (2017?) fixed price servicing menu. The recent significant price hike would explain why there appear to be two different pricing structures out there. Not everyone at every OPC may have yet caught up with the pricing changes. Cheers,

Yes I am well or rather getting better, its five weeks since the Operation and my mobility is getting better, just hoping that the Turbo will start next week when my enforced 6 weeks off driving comes to an end.

The “old” fixed price structure is still on the Porsche website, the image is a screen capture from that website taken today.

The price hike though is massive, but glad the service intervals are every two years so it is not to bad a cost if one bears that in mind.

Why such a massive price hike? They are already a hugely profitable company. Seems a bit odd. Perhaps the local OPCs are "struggling". When I was in having a service at the beginning of March there were very few new cars going out, unlike 2 years ago when I got mine. They were blaming Brexit although I don't know if that was the real problem. Hearing about very expensive servicing won't help sell cars though.

There are some new PDF’s on the Porsche site explaining the new servicing prices. Basically they are rolling in the brake fluid, plugs and air filter at the appropriate times. Ie 2y is service and brake fluid at 575 (625 for diesel), 4y is service, brake fluid and plugs at 950. Etc
