I became a first time Porsche owner this week! My last 3 vehicles were all BMW, the latest M2. Delivery photos attached, well equipped including SportsDesignPackage.

70 miles in so far so good... I'll circle back with full impressions in the coming weeks. Quite a change from M2... Considered X3M40i and X3M before landing on the Macan.

Track me down if you have any questions.

Better sports definitely but better SUV - debatable. X3 is bigger, more practical, better equipped for the money, and still a good drive...

I ordered the X3M40i, waited months, saw it through to day of delivery, then passed. On the first test drive I preferred the X3M40i (power, tech, fuel, value), then 2nd Porsche visit (just to make sure) the sales guy told me to take it to BMW and drive back to back as long as I please. Then I was sold on Porsche. Felt significantly more grounded, agile, solid, refined, luxurious. I recognize I paid a premium but I'm happy to have remained patient (at least 3 days into the Macan).

Space was a non-issue for me, actually preferred the size of Macan - and look inside/out.

But that is personal. Back seat space and boot are issues for some, price an issue for many... that’s why we are fortunate to have choice!

Hi John and welcome to our friendly forum! :)

Congratulations on the Macan! Are you in the US? πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

P.S. The silver wheels look great against the shiny black bodywork.

Great vehicle, I also considered M40i, but decided to wait for Macan S. It was worth the wait!

Yes, I'm in the US but this UK forum is more informative compared to the US - thanks all! I get some rough roads and winters in Michigan so I opted to go with 19s in sport w all season, scored Michelin tires in the lotto. Perhaps 20/21 if I move to warmer climate.
