Somebody mentioned on this forum that because the body is very well insulated, the sound-track is artificially enhanced through the sound system.
I don't think Porsche do this.

I hope that you are right... fewer parts that might break at some point in time.
However, I am inclined to believe the rumour, as £1,600 exhaust flap with a solenoid is hard to justify [emoji51]
Either way, it works for me, I am very happy with the PSE acquisition.

My Golf R had an exhaust flap plus a vibrator in around the engine bay bulkhead. It sounded good. The thought of electronic noise through speakers would annoy me.
Macan SD Vocano Grey. LEDs, Pano Roof, PSE, Sports Chrono, PASM, Sports Design Mirrors, 21" Sports Classics in Black, lots of other extras.
http://www.porsche-code.com/PJ2XHAR5 for the day that this works again.

It’s not just that, it’s a different exhaust system. There are no connections to the sound system or separate speakers.

...if you don’t spec your Porsche in a certain way, you are just a sad, shallow person who is merely driving a ‘badge’

Picked up my Facelift S in ADELAIDE last week , the std exhaust sound is quieter than the pre-facelift , and that’s not solely down to the GPF as here in Oz due to our high sulfur content fuel Porsche are not installing them , I optioned the PSE and am happy with the sound.......

Car is Amazing .

I take back all I wrote about the artificially enhanced sound!

See Paul’s thread “PSE” about the 911 exhaust system design (perhaps some tech expert can link/ref the other thread).

I believe it can be safely extrapolated to Macan!
