The latter! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soundaktor
That’s a Soundaktor. Whereas https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actuator

See my previous post. The reference to actuator in the wiring diagram I believe are the servos that operate the exhaust flaps.
And as you say you cannot find a Soundaktor in any parts list.

Guy, this is very useful... do you have access to the manual?
Could you post the full page diagram? And the corresponding troubleshooting page from the Service Manual?

Try a search for 4H0 907 601 D. It comes up as 'Pulse Sender, Engine Noises' and is part of the I2HB 'Interior Sound Measures (shaker)' package. There's one for sale here and you can see pictures of where the sound comes out! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Orig-VW-Arte ... SwDUZc2rTF

EDIT: I dug out the relevant pages from the parts list:

There's a link in the first post of this thread: https://www.macanforum.com/forum/engine ... anual.html

At 5966 pages I suggest that you download a copy and read at your leisure :D

I may well be being slow here but how is a link to a VW part relevant to the Macan?

(Yes I know the companies are linked)
2017 - Macan Turbo, with most of the toys (sold)
2008 - manual 997.1 Turbo (sold)

Clearly it's a shared VW group part - hence totally relevant. Haver you ever looked under your bonnet/car?

I have a 2015 Macan S and had an AWE Exhaust installed. It is loud and you can hear every burp and chirp including most downshifts.

It has given the car a whole new peesonna...

or trying entering a Macan in the advert?

No, but I was simply trying to show a photo of the part for the general interest of forum members - there were several photos that I could have linked to, from a variety of motor manufacturers that use exactly the same part and with the same part number. I am 100% confident that Porsche use the same part.

I buy numerous car parts from eBay (most VW Audi group), but I never trust the compatibility tables.
