10 weeks in and I have a 5mm x 1mm x 1mm scratch / chip on the drivers door just under the rear view mirror. I don't know how or where; I presume it's a stone chip on the motorway but identifying the how and the where doesn't make it any better. There seems to be no good solutions. I am not prepared to have the whole door re-sprayed. It seems that my only other reasonable solution is a 'touch up . . . . ,' how/where do I buy metallic volcano grey touch up paint?

I have used these people before and I know they will do the whole door and I think that's a bit of over-kill.

What I want if a small pot of Volcano grey paint and a three hair brush - where do I buy that?

I used ChipsAway for a couple of full depth stone chips on my 911 and they didn’t do full panels and neither can you see where it was repaired. Did a great job for not a lot of £.

It is a franchise and not all operatives are the same so would suggest checking the reviews of a few close to you and using the highest rated one. No need for a full panel respray and will be infinitely better than any touch up you could do yourself.

I thought the whole raison d’être of smart repair companies like Chipsaway was that they didn’t repaint whole panels.

I've found the Chipex kits good to use. The thing I really like with them is if it doesn't look right you can remove it and try again.

I had four nasty chips down to the metal on my new MACAN GTS IN THE FIRST 1000 miles. I was really P’d Off!

I took it to Porsche Reading, had a bonnet re-spray and decided on a full body wrap. No chips in the next 14,000, miles on the same roads.

Worth every penny.. it’s so mush easier to clean by hand and keeps its shine with only a squirt or two of SWISSWAX NANO spray every two weeks or so.

Back to the OP, have you asked your dealership? The parts dept would be my first port of call.
After that (as above) Chipex do supply touch-up pencils
