Yeah, that would fit the timescale better! ;) Red5 is probably younger than me!
I must type younger? 8-)

Thank you guys, but sadly it is the former influence that lead to the moniker / handle
My Dad took me to see Star Wars on my 6th birthday, which is still up there as one of the best gifts ever!

However, my driving did start in time for the rise of our Nige :D

Both brilliant pictures above btw! You both nailed it!

My car was a Red Renault 5 and we all had CB radios (with small antennas) so I just went with Red5 as a call sign.
It was great fun going places in convoy with my friends, chatting car-to-car ‘Chhhhh over’

So I was racing around in my Red 5, talking on radio.. (no head gear though)

I bet you didn’t realise I was that cool? :geek:

When I started internet activities, the handle re-emerged for old times sake 8-)

.......then on a motoring forum, due to my amazing comedy talents, breathtaking technical insight, charming warmth and notorious modesty, I met the lovely Semerka and the rest is history ;) 8-)

I’m well aware this is off topic, so apologise to the op

What a romantic story! :) 💕

By the way, if you were only 6 when Star Wars came out (1977) then you ARE younger! ;)

Buying a new car is always a bit bonkers...
I added every bell and whistle to my GTS and then had a full body wrap... INSANE!
BUT... I hate changing cars until they start falling apart so I will keep my over-specked 3/2018 until then.. The depreciation curve slowly flattens out and the last couple of years use tends to counterbalance the initial loss.. hopefully!

I want the GTS to last 10 - 13 years...

As for the engine noise - it’s too boy racer for me and my neighbours, woken up by 05.30 starts, talk sarcastically about the Spitfire... embarrassing at my age. I want an extra switch in the centre console marked ‘OF’ to indicate my age and the exhaust noise.😉🥴

I have requested a valuation from a different dealer in the mean time to see, I think I will ask the few I saw online who had the car at around the 72k mark.

I thought the dealer would be more willing if I was buying another car from them :?
Just a thought, and genuinely not trying to be inflammatory, but have you thought about the fact it's a pre facelift and now looks incredibly dated compared to the facelift? Maybe the dealers are concerned about resale values of them tanking as more facelifts come on the road? I don't think anyone expected the new light bar to have such an effect on the older models.... They wouldn't admit this to you of course, but maybe they're hedging their bets at an uncertain time?
I really do think the new light bar on the rear tail has spoiled the look and smooth lines of the Macan and is pretty ugly. Just my opinion ;)

I agree, lightbar on facelift not for me - pretty ugly in fact. Deffo prefer my 3 years old GTS.

I wouldn’t mind a run a Macan Turbo PP, just for the comparison & craic

Agreed. The new rear lights have lost the Porsche look.
