Insulated glass is an option on the Macan. It offers similar benefits to double glazing. I'm sure luxury cars such as the Mercedes Benz S-Class can be specced with double glazing, so no doubt it's available on Rolls Royce and the bigger BMWs and Audis too...

Heat and noise insulating glass produces a marked reduction in road and tyre induced noise inside the car. I have the option on my car (and on the Cayenne before it) and it was only when I drove a loan Macan with the same 20 inch wheels that I realised just how good the HNIG option is.

A friend of mine has a Cayenne fitted with the option and he suffered a real life demonstration of how laminated glass makes it harder but not impossible for thieves to break into the car.

Several manufacturers offer it on their high end cars including Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus, Mercedes.
Here's an an example on a BMW 5 series

I have both used and watched PDR and I have total admiration for the individuals that I have seen. They are however franchises, I believe and would only use one that I have experience of.

I think the doors are aluminium or some alloy composition and whilst these are more difficult to fix, the right person can do it, may cost a little more than steel.

It's done. For future readers of this post it cost me £80 plus vat. It was done by the below people who I found after visiting a regular panel beating paint spraying repair shop who use them for small dents. The finish is not perfect but I, knowing where it was, had to look long and hard to find the slightest of evidence of what had been.

Off topic, but a pal of mine had a huge Merc 600 saloon, SEL(?) or something, back around '92/93. Definitely had double glazing and self closing doors. Also a hill hold electronic parking brake. It all seemed very 'space age" back then.
