In comparison LV= have been extremely competitive and great value over my last four years of car insurance. Had a claim in my 1st year with them on a Merc and they paid up with no quibble within a week of getting the estimate. Deer kicked a headlamp cover - cost £1359 to fix. Deer had no insurance either!
Oh deer! ;)

NFU clearly want to avoid any areas that they deem to be of higher risk to them and are very selective about the business they accept.

For those applicants they do accept the consensus is that they look after them very well.

It's true that you have to deal with them by phone but on the limited occasions I had to call them there was no trouble getting through.

Having to ring them is a bit of a PITA but they were very polite and efficient and I think their policy is very good. Any policy that requires you to list every factory fitted extra is a no-no for me.

Hi, used NFU for my first purchase Mk 2 Macan 2L. Reason for going with them was the 2 year "new car" insurance claim for outright theft of write off. Had a widscreen replaced by Porsche do no problem there. Unfortunately found them to be more expensive after the first year and since you are "locked" in for the second year the price was increased.
Found out that SAGA also offer the same two year type policy

My 2nd year was actually cheaper, but no one circumstance is the same for everyone.
When I went back to them this year, I found way more expensive, regardless of the 2 year new for old policy.

They are no longer the No1 Which? recommended insurer, succeeded by LV, who I am now with at a massively lower premium than NFT could offer.

^^^^^^ Ditto. Sadly, NFU have made a major policy shift this year for some reason and are no longer competitive. In my case they were also insisting on a tracker for the first time. The 911 is now with LV via City Insurance.

We used to Insure our house through NFU and without explanation they just hiked our policy from £980 to £1480. When questioned they said the cost of builders had gone up 😂

My second year with NFU is actually 25% cheaper than year one. Almost certainly, this will be the last year I'm with them.
