I can successfully enter my MyPorsche pairing code into my PCM and all seems well. It picks up my destinations etc.

But if I return to my car 2 or 3 hours later, the home PCM screen says ‘No Porsche ID assigned ‘, and I have to setup with the pairing code again.

Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?

Did you tell the PCM that you want the log in saved, so that you don't have to log in each time?

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ll see if there is such an option.

I did however have the impression that entry of the pairing code was essentially a one off operation.

Unless it's different in the latest model, you can choose 2 or 3 options where it will keep you logged in or forgets you. Cannot remember if there's 3rd one actually.

Thanks Semerka, I think these are the settings you must be referring to (see photo below).

I was set to the 3rd option, which is why pairing code had to be entered every time the car was started.

I’m now using the 2nd option, which is better, but still requires a ‘logon’ every time, albeit via a few button presses rather than anything like a pairing code, userid or password. But it doesn’t seem right to have to do this every time I use the car.

There is the first option, but that seems to require some sort of registration of a phone via Bluetooth. I use Apple CarPlay, which disables the Bluetooth connectivity for my phone. So it does not seem viable.

So I’m still left with pressing buttons to get the PCM logged into my Porsche ID, every trip in the car. Does everyone else do this?

Yes, it’s because the entire thing is crap & also pointless. No little smilie face as I mean it.

However, mine seems to mostly work (although what for, I have to ask) since I installed a SIM card & Hotwired it to phone. The only purpose I’ve discovered is finding out exactly how far away the cruise parking people moved my Macan whilst I was in the Canaries. Although initially I wondered why it wasn’t showing my blue car, then I realised it was just a pointer on a Google map of cars that were parked there in 2016.

Hi Makanik, yes, that's it. On my old, 2016 car, the 2nd option was "remember my pairing code" or such. Looks like they changed it.
Perhaps it's to do with security, so that no one else can access your information. 🥴
