An OPC will look to make 8k on bid v sticker but these days 6k bid v actual sale.

Sounds like a salesman trying to pass that 2k onto owner plus a lazy assessment of this car assuming it as the OP says (every sales guy will claim the average cost of getting cars to their retail quality costs 5k+).

As others have said you have chosen the lazy expensive option, as many owners can afford to do.

Instead add the 1 year extended warranty and put a free ad on here and PH for £4k less than OPC stocks price and shift it quickly.

What colour is exterior and interior?

Thanks for all your comments, I agree private / specialist sale would net a greater return. Who’d have thought such a high price for the convenience of buying another vehicle from them. Maybe time to look to the classifieds, certainly other OPC’s or perhaps an Alfa...

Trading in with OPC is sometimes the only sensible option (assuming you don't want to take the bus) because of their vague delivery dates. My delivery date slipped by roughly a month.

OPC obviously know this too :( :(

I agree that the buy back / part exchange offers at an OPC are woeful.

But on the other hand, I did buy two secondhand cars from two different OPC's over the last couple of years. They come with 2 year approved used warranty + European breakdown assistance (even if out of the 3 years manufacturer warranty) which for a Macan is around £1,700/£1,800.
They do re-spray any panels that have stone chips or scratches (whereas BMW dealer just used a touch up paint). I suppose the 111-point check is debatable as that's impossible to check if done.
Our stable:
- 992 Carrera T - manual - Ruby Star Neo - Carrera Excl. wheels (2023)
- BMW 240i xDrive (G42) - Portimao Blue - AC Schnitzer tune
ex: 981 Cayman GTS, Macan S Diesl, Macan Turbo, 991.2 Carrera S, 718 Cayman GTS, i30 N, 718 Cayman GTS 4.0

that's what it costs us punters not the OPC, although there will be some cost to them of course

Sounds nice, was checking it wasn't some green with red leather resale nightmare ;)

£7-8K is the accepted mark down on an OPC trade-in? Even my GT3 only made them £8k. £12k is taking the pee!

I am fully onboard with dealers and businesses making money, but it has really tarnished my view of Porsche. It feels like they won’t stand behind their product.

34k??? What age and mileage is it? I have just sold an Audi SQ5 (67 plate, 22500 miles) with a decent but not exotic spec (21s, pan roof, a few other bits) for £36k - in the trade. I bought it, in the days when discounts were harder to come by, for 54k. So 18k loss in 2 years.

I originally ordered a Macan GTS which was coming in at £66.5k. That would have to be worth £48.5k for same pound note loss. It looks like that would have been unlikely....
