Possible oil change...I asked them and they said they rob £26 per litre. Disgraceful, I told them so...like they care. I will be buying my own of course, but their advised oil type, directly from the service department email, is Mobil 1 ESP X2 0W20 Engine Oil. My online looking says otherwise. Why is this so difficult? Price is significantly less with the Porsche mark-up of 276%. Should be banned from doing this.
It's a year old 2.0L Macan and needing new oil after 10k on fully synthetic oil smells rather strongly of profiteering...that oil should be good for way more than that. Surely?

Might be worth looking in the engine bay to see if there is a sticker specifying a recommended oil type.
I understand such stickers have priority over the manual.

There;s a page in the manual if you want to check.
Some recs are biased towards low viscosity as one of a package of measures to improve fuel economy; you may find something a little thicker better for longevity.

My 2019 Macan S needed a top up recently. I ended up going to the dealer because the manual and engine sticker were different. The manual says to defer to the sticker, but the dealer then told me a different answer based on their computer. £24 for a litre. I bought it from Porsche because I was thoroughly unconvinced by which source of truth was accurate and wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get into warranty issues if the particulate filter failed from incorrect oil.
My 2019 3.0s engine sticker said "Mobil1 SAE 0W-30 & Porsche Standard C30". The dealer provided "Mobil1 ESP 5W-30" which does say Porsche C30 on the rear of the container. I've still no idea what is correct!

Macan S 2019 - Sapphire
For the 2019 cars with petrol particle filters, tghe newer C30 is the right oil spec. The rest is about viscosity where which is best is related partly to outside climate temperature. Both 0w and 5 w probable ok for UKsmcgrego wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2019 12:26 pm My 2019 Macan S needed a top up recently. "The numbers you see is a measure of the viscosity of the oil at Cst at 100 degrees Centrigrade. Hence, the lower the number, the less viscous or "thinner" the oil. ... If you are operating in a very low temp (cold) surroundings, you need a very low viscosity grade, such that you require a 0W-30 than a 10W-30."
2019 Macan S Porsche code PKW8WKI8
Porsche C30 0W-30W in my 2.0L Macan manual, however, there were 2 litres of Mobil 1 0W-40W in the car when I bought it secondhand a month ago. My Boxster 981S uses Mobil 1 0W-40W and I have always supplied my own oil in the past few years when I take the car to OPC for its annual service.
