Temperamental Intermittent Wipers

just wondered if anyone else has issues with their intermittent wiper function.

I bought the car second hand in January this year, but the intermittent wipers are indistinct to say the least.
They do not work like usual and seem to have no regular wipe pattern, even when it is heavy rain.

My 12 month warranty runs out at the end of January, but I was wondering if anyone else have had a similar problem.

Thanks beforehand for your comments,

Bill

I suspect you have rain sensing wipers and their sweep is dictated by how occluded the sensor in the windscreen gets. I do find that I often need to be driving blind before my wipers kick in. A clean screen may help or adjust the sensitivity on the stalk.

Yes they are rain sensing units. I only realised about 6 weeks ago that the valet people at the dealership must have sprayed the whole car in wax, Yes, including the windows, rear reversing camera and front foglights. I had to clean all the windows etc., with white spirit, dry them off, then wipe them twice again with glass cleaner. This has helped the intermittent wipe timings lots, as to be honest they were pretty non-existent before. Having owned all types of top-end cars I have never experienced intermittent wiper systems such as these. Even on "fast" speed, they are never consistent, sometimes coming on when I think they should and then a few minutes later, the screen will be covered in rain spots, making it dangerous to drive, and even then it can take more time for it to sense the drops. Very weird, so much so, that I intend to visit the nearest dealership next week for some Porsche Technical Input.

When mine aren't working as well as I want, I just set the variable speed to a different setting, either faster or slower and that usually does the trick.

Thx Happy Days, I have altered the speed settings on every occasion, but to be honest I will achieve an instant wipe, then have to wait until the sensor thinks there is enough rain to start the motor, unfortunately, it is usually too late and I need to do it manually.
Never mind, it is the Porsche dealership tomorrow and I look forward to their response.
