Never put anything remotely rattly in the door pockets; put on a bit of Shpongle last month and I thought i'd blown the speaker.

Turned out my navigator had left a hairbrush in there.

Find that anything in the 'sub-boot' under the floor can produce all sorts of strange noises even if it is 'soft'.

At the risk of going off topic with the thread, your picture of a Nokia 6310 tied to orange brought back memories. When I started part-time work fourteen years ago, my first company phone was one of those. I used to enjoy the "Orange Wednesday" discount at the cinema. In those days, the battery lasted two weeks if you used the phone or fourteen days on standby!

Jokes are never funny when you have to explain them. This one was doing the rounds when the 6310 was new. The battery seemed to last the same length of time regardless of whether you used the phone or not.

Agreed.

My 6310 lasted forever if you did not use it. It is still in a cupboard somewhere......................

If you have to explain it.......................

Speaking of annoying noises, my wife said that she was fed up with all the noise when she was trying to cook - so I took the battery out of the smoke alarm !

( okay, time to leave)
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?
