On Idle it’s less noticeable but when getting on it should be noticeable - esp full throttle up shifts.

This was the manual says on the 992 too hence that’s what I do.

On our gen2 Macan there is a change in tone with it on but only after it has completed its called stage warm up for some reason - this is opposite to my old RS4 which would soften slightly after that stage!

I must admit I want a growl and some bangs when switched on
Don't think you can see the flaps inside the pipes.

Mine's a MY2017 Turbo. As others have said, there's not a lot to be heard inside the car. When switched on when on the motorway it does drone a bit and switching it off noticeably changes that, so it's a good test to prove it's working.

Actually most of my trips are in sport mode, so I activate sport mode which automatically opens PSE valves, and at idle the exhaust tone changes (in a way I would think everyone could hear)

Are people saying that pressing the PSE button on its own creates a different tone to Sport mode with PSE on? That seems odd

I don't think so. The difference mentioned in Sport mode is that you get pops and bangs on overrun that you don't get when in Normal or Sport Plus driving modes when you've selected PSE manually. It comes on automatically in Sport mode.

Ok makes sense

I really don’t understand how people can sit in the car on idle and stereo off and not hear a sound difference when pressing the PSE button on and off

Agreed, apart from when the car is in warm up mode for the first minute or so. :geek:

I have the sport exhaust on my new model Macan S and you can barely tell any difference in exhaust note when it’s switched on.......probably not worth adding to be honest.

I too have the new model S and can personally detect a discernible difference in tone, although it’s subtle when idle and when crushing about - it’s there though, and worth it in my opinion.

The fart when changing up (at 5k rpm and above), from 2-3 and then 3-4 makes me smile every time.
I assume the same occurs when changing up from 4-5 (and so on) but by that time the speed limit is long gone 😉
