Just got off the phone to Porsche Edinburgh, priced up a set of conti 5’s for the rear. 21” wheels - camskill is coming up at circa £175 per tyre not including fitting.. Porsche quoted me, wait for it... £295 per tyre :o :o :o

I knew Porsche would be pricey but £120 more is crazy. Even if u take away £15/20 for fitting it’s still way overpriced.. they won’t even price match or come close on the price.

^^^ OPCs vary. Other OPCs, including Tewkesbury, will price match, or come pretty close to it.

I got a full set of 20” Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres for my Carrera T for £1,000 fitted. This was after some haggling! Their initial quote for new Pirellis was nearly double this!

I haven't had to fit tyres as yet but was budgeting on £250 per tyre and was hoping for a bit less.

I was hoping to use OPC as they might be less likely to damage my wheels but is there any other benefit??

 Try also Blackcircles,co.uk, Protyre / Micheldever and mytyres.co.uk

I'm buying a set of 19" Michelin Latitude Sport 3 [NO] for my Macan next week for £556.36 [fully fitted, balanced, tyre disposal and inc VAT] :D
via Blackcircles. They are owned by Michelin GB. Protyre will be doing the fitting.

Black circles don’t stock the conti 5’s unfortunately. I had them on my C63 and later replaced them with Michelin PSS - preferred the conti’s. I’d have liked to use an OPC, so on the off chance there’s any damage, they can resolve it. Think most dealerships in Edinburgh are over priced compared to England.. got a quote from MB edin for a service - £595, same service down south inc a courtesy car -£400

I used a price from Blackcircles to haggle with my OPC. :geek:

My tyre dealer is 10 minutes away. OPC would not match BC's price and is a 2 hr return trip away = more money on tyres and fuel plus wasted time! :ugeek: :ugeek:

Had a chat at Tonbridge OPC the other day. The SA told me that they will compete with Kwikfit but absolutely not with BC whom I've used several times and would again.

OPC Edin is crazy price for tyres - don't use them
If you're in Edinburgh try Redpath tyres at the Gyle (ask for Jamie) They are Pirelli Performance centre- I use them for all my cars
I got Pirelli winter tyres for my 911 (with centre locks) at nearly half the price of OPC Edin
BTW are the Conti's N rated?

I’ll give them a call, yeah they’re N rated. Originally wanted to try PS4S but maybe overkill for a Macan :?:

Have u used them for alignment - any good?
