I don’t listen to music in the car too often but when I do I now use the Spotify app via car play.....
This is why I've been looking at adding it, mainly for Waze or iPhone Tom Tom app plus music streaming.

Trouble is OPCs are currently quoting me £600 plus which I'm not willing to pay
Audi wanted £600 to add nav to my old S1, so it’s unheard of. Waze and Apple Music for me make the car.

I would try a different OPC. I had CarPlay installed on my 66 GTS in December from East London Porsche for £300 + VAT. It's a simple OS update as far as they are concerned and takes a couple of hours.

I use it for Spotify and Waze (and of course to make and receive calls without looking at my phone). WhatsApp works well too I'm told but I haven't really used it yet.

I got Apple Carplay retrofitted recently. My Feb 2017 S Diesel had all the necessary nav / voice components. Cost was about 420 including VAT and "labour". It works fine and saves stressing about getting the maps updated. Next present will be the TDI tuning chip, I think.

Hi guys

I want car play fitted to my late 2016 turbo. I have NAV and I think voice control but Guildford centre quoted me £543 to fit

Anyone had it done cheaper down south or London ?

Brains1900. I would like to buy a 2017 Diesel but not many have Carplay. Could you tell me what I need to look out for to get one that has the necessary nav / voice components for a retrofit?
Thanks

See page 1 of this thread for the tequipment brochure page. 2017 cars all have PCM4 so as long as you have the nav module and a picture of a talking head on the end of the indicator stalk you should be OK.

Thanks Paul, you probably provided a more concise answer than I would have.😀
