Interesting that our American cousins can close the tailgate using the 'open tailgate' switch on the driver's door. Among a variety of other things that seem to be US only program. Like the classic 'remember the last position' of auto stop and sport switches....................................

The close function would be useful at times...........

You can close the tailgate with the cockpit button just hold it down for a few seconds..

First time I've heard that one. It doesn't work on my MY17 Turbo, obviously UK spec.

Think Kufatec already provide a module for this, as does "Nichetecnology" on here (See thread on introductions) although a bit dearer does provide some other gains if not already activated.

For how long does one have to hold the button?

Does this mean a 'long press' on the fob button also works
