Hi,
Quick question, just coming up to two years.
if I have the 111 inspection carried out during its 1st service ( 2 year) is it correct that some OPC's do not charge ?
Do I have to buy the extra warranty when I pick my car up or is there a time limit for the purchase of the extended warranty ?
TIA
Spook

You can buy the warranty up until it’s 3 yrs old
The “foc” check is by negotiation; I discussed mine prior to the 20000 service, arguing they were already doing 90% of the work during the service.....they accepted my point of view (and I was buying 2 tyres)

Hi Paul,
I understand about buying it anytime in the 1st 3 years, and i'm looking to do what you did and have it carried out during the 20000 service to save £'s ( i.e it's 2 years old) I was told when I bought the car that was the best thing to do by the service manager, just checking that it does happen.
My other question is, Is there any requirement to buy the extended warranty straight away or can I wait a week or two after the inspection to take out the warranty, just incase i have a cash flow problem?

?
Can’t answer that, sorry. Probably not as the warranty company might argue that a potential future fault could have developed between the inspection date and warranty start date (a bit tenuous I know, but you know what insurance companies can be like)
(Stick it on the credit card and settle it next month)

I did ask Brooklands about the 111 point check FOC and they said that they got nothing from Porsche for doing the warranty so they had to charge something for their time to break even. I think they are great people so was happy to do so. Maybe other dealers are more flexible, or maybe they are part of the Porsche Retail Group and the financials work out differently.
I didn't have it done until it was 3 years old, so not with a service.

mmm
don’t doubt that’s what they told you, but they will have a margin in every warranty sale and (possibly) be targeted on parc penetration.

I was advised that the 111 point check “expired” after 7 days. It made my mind up to self-insure. They did swap a leaky adblue tube under warranty discovered by the check.spook wrote:Hi Paul,
