Yes I know, I am old too! But having had top-end lighting on my last few cars it's hard to go back. I visit my parents a lot who live in the middle of the Wyre Forest and at night there are lots of Deer about that you really need to avoid..................

I'm with Rich. I have retained the halogen bulbs and stored them in the boot so can refit them quickly if required. However in my view I have made the car much safer to drive at night so would probably get rid if forced to replace led bulbs with candles as supplied.
Me too. I have been running LED's for two years now with no problems once I had found good ones. The car has passed two MOTs without trouble.
I know there are stiffer regs now but I'm not sure most testers will notice what the bulbs are as long as the beam pattern on low beam is ok.

I appreciate that older halogens are often not bright enough and I appreciate the safety of better road illumination - but it fails on MoT now. Extract from the manual is:
Existing halogen headlamp units should not be converted to be used with high intensity discharge (HID) or light emitting diode (LED) bulbs. If such a conversion has been done, you must fail the headlamp.
So keep the old bulbs for changing back before the MoT if you wish and most MoT testers I know would recognise the difference easily - so its an easy fail for them to do.

Good luck arguing that with an MoT tester.
