So having picked up my Macan last week I set about getting rid of the Halogen lights. I did a lot of research in advance on both UK and USA forums to make sure the solution would work and not throw up any errors. I have now been running for 5 days with no bulb out errors or radio interference. No one is flashing me as the low dip beam pattern is perfect. I am posting this to help people that want to do this conversion, not to start a debate on the legality or morals of it. The car will go in for its MOT in a few weeks time and I will update this thread on the results. The lights all have, more or less, the same colour temperature and so match perfectly. The fogs are really easy to do, about 10 mins per side and this video helps a lot:-

The Dipped/Side/Main beam requires removal of the headlight. It's actually really easy to do. Once you have done it once you can do it in 5 minutes next time. The actual fitting of the bulbs takes the time and it is so fiddly. A very helpful video is here:-

Note that when you put the headlight back there is a slot at the rear that the headlight must fit into, I missed this the first time. Don't slam the bonnet shut until you are sure it is in place correctly!!!
So here is what I replaced:-
Fog Lights (H11) £16.99 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07C1269CZ/ ... 11_TE_item
dipped (H7) £118.36 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwbqMxb4_jw
Side/Main (H11) - £79.99 - https://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/h11-h ... -pair.html
Note that the Philips bulbs come with an extra piece of wire. This is the CANBUS defeat and must be fitted.
The whole process took about 3 hours. It really helps to have small hands as fitting the bulbs into the headlights is a fiddly job at best. If anyone has any questions let me know. It's not easy to photograph the results but this should give you an idea.
LED upgrade for the Halogen lights - A guide
Just as an update to this the Side/Main (H15, not H11 sorry for the typo) was not working correctly. I had not noticed (dont know how but not driving a lot right now) that they were on high beam and sidelight all the time. Both lights were on together. So these have had to be removed while I search for another solution.
So will be fitting these normal bulbs with a white tinge to them.
The picture above shows the dipped beam and fogs.

Yes I know thank you. I just want it done before the main 3-year warranty ends. They may pick something up on the MOT that I can't see. Not sure how the extended warranty (which I have) differs from the original warranty.Guy wrote: ↑Wed Apr 01, 2020 12:36 pmMOTs are extended by 6 months: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus ... march-2020
