With no or at best limited use of your vehicles over the coming weeks your retained battery capacity will deteriorate and a trip to your local shops, or ten minutes revving outside 🙉 will not be enough, although more than enough for your neighbours 🤕.
Have two garaged vehicles permanently coupled to battery conditioners, they are fine. So for outside have our Land Rover supported by a Solar panel charger plugged straight into the EOBD port, but never had to think about the Macan before 🤔. Haven’t used this one for a few years but should do the trick. 😉

It doesn't look to me like that enclosure would have any sort of IP rating.

Should we all be putting our cars onto to trickle/ battery conditioning machines if we’re unable to drive them.

If the answer is yes, what recommendations are there for such machines?

Washed/dried, Ctek mxs 5.0 connected to centre console socket (yes it works constantly) through slightly ajar passenger window, car locked, soft cover applied, exterior cover on top - job done!
Not expecting to go anywhere in it for several months.
Wife's Mini is now the runaround.

Quote from manufacturer. “CTEK Smarter Chargers are durable and can perform under extreme weather environments, with a temperature range of (-4°F to +122°F). They are shockproof, weatherproof, dustproof, and fully approved for outdoor use (IP44-IP65).” 🧐 They are made in Sweden and it can be rather extreme over there. However, it would fade under direct sunlight and can get buried under snow, that’s why it’s lifted and under cover. Not that I’m expecting any snow but have used this box all year round with a different CTEK unit to support a little used Golf GTI now moved on. 👍

but actually Mike will be ok as he only charges the battery of his Land Rover via the outside facility

I put my S charging on my CTEK on car and AGM setting for the 1st time last Thursday until I went out for my weekly shop this morning and having done a round trip of 40 miles, I have put it back on charge just now, but this time on a regen setting as well as CTEK recommend doing that once a year.

With garages shut, I do wonder what the OPC's are doing for all those cars whose delivery is held up. Over the last two years on this forum, I have noticed some correlation with comments about as car being held up in the delivery process and later electrical problems.

CTEK model 5 has the best reviews and is the one Porsche sell rebranded for twice the price

I have used a CTEK MX 5 on my Boxster for years, they are a good piece of kit.
