Interesting suppositions.........my OPC ramps are pillarless...........

Something similar happened to me many years ago. Went to pick up my Escort RS Turbo after service and immediately noticed the non standard fog lights, then the slight metallic sheen to the bonnet on the solid black car......................not a happy bunny. They had lightly rear ended another car on the post service test drive........the fogs had folded back into the bonnet, creasing it. New bonnet and new fogs (non standard fit........)

Everything sorted out to my (exacting) standards over the course of the next few days. However, it was the attempt at cover up that was most galling.

Covering up mistakes never ends well. Just ask Nick Lesson or Kweku Adoboli.

Sorted!
Given initial response and investigation I believe the manager was not aware of damage. Now having spoken to staff appears a tech did it and got dent remover, who was onsite, to cover up. Had the trim not fallen off then probably got away with it.
Full apology and refund of service cost as good will. Plus will pick car up with loaner and make good when this lockdown is over.
Things happen and am happy with result

👍👍

As I suspected (from painful, personal first-hand experience.....☹️)

..but the outcome you wanted and a “debt” on your account for the future....👍

When my car was 6 months old, I got a major crack in the windscreen and my insurer agreed to pay for the supplying OPC to replace it. I left it with the OPC for a couple of weeks whilst I was away in Spain. I got the car back and it looked OK, but over the next couple of months I noticed a slight imperfection in the paint on the driver's door. I think it had been dented or scratched and given an "instant repair". With a casual glance, it looks fine, but in certain lights it doesn't. I wish I'd examined the car more closely when I first got it back, but after a couple of months didn't feel I could challenge the OPC. But I won't use them again.

At least the outcome is satisfactory, would not be going back though.

I had a shocking experience with the Porsche approved repairer in Portslade 18 years ago.
My 968 went in for a new front bumper after it was hit in a car park.
The estimate listed new bumper, and blend in front wings.
The car came back with a badly repaired bumper and they had painted over the stone chip protection on the front wings !!

After a few faxes !! The front of the car was repainted and a new front bumper and new stone protection.

I sold the car shortly afterwards, I am sure the car was used recently in a car magazine post, still with the shocking paint match !!
