What Car still prefers Macan S to Audi SQ5
Not much point stating the Macan is cheaper than the Audi, given the former may need £££s of extras to make it hard-decent. If you didn't know much about Porsche, you'd read this and turn up at the showroom actually expecting one for the stated price.
The What Car? recommendation to avoid the sunroof is a very poor one. Most Macans have sunroofs and, in the UK, dealers struggle to sell ones without.

Current - Macan III GTS

What Car seems a little confused about which version of the Macan they're testing. The headline quotes a 2.9V6 and they refer to under 5 sec 0-60 performance. That reads more GTS than S.

But S is 2995 cc which is what the summary says. the 0 to 60 is different and less than 0 to 100kph i.e 62 approx mph Porsche quote. 4.8 could be an S with SC 0 to 60 time.
Car in photos is an"S"
I admit What Car are not the most accurate magazine and their car judgement criteria probably differ to many in this group who probably agree with the likes of EVO more. Based on many of their previous judgements I was surprised they came out S over SQ5 despite that being my own judgement and that of many on this forum.

Seems like a terrific recommendation to me. Based on my experience it’s put me off pano roofs for life!

Seems like this is a very ‘Marmite’ option. I didn’t order a pano roof on my Macan, Panamera or Carrera T. If I were to buy another new Porsche, I still wouldn’t order a pano roof, based at least in part on the experience of owners on this forum.
If you have a car with a pano roof, which you’ll be selling at some point, then clearly you’ll say that the pano roof is the best thing since sliced bread!
