So with the changes to the road tax and missing playing with the configurator I thought it would be interesting to see if I could build a <256 Co2 car that I would consider buying, if I were determined not to hit the max charge (unlikely, but a challenge).

If playing this challenge you need to configure then go to the technical data link at the foot of the page to see the C02 for the build spec, which dynamically changes with options added; you cannot get everything you would like, compromises must be made (Wheels for me, really wanted 20" Spyders, but can live with these).

Here is my S build:

My GTS build is 258. I actaully managed to build a 255, which a GTS starts with on the base specs. Its not possible to add pano roof, but surprisingly I can have 21" Wheels, as long as they are SCs.

Yes a bit tricky...starting with the gts. Can loose a gram with a smaller gas tank, and another with ceramic brakes

Interesting game with expensive implications. I took my S build with its standard 18 inch wheels – 252 g/km - and deleted the 75 litre fuel tank and spare wheel (1 g/km each). This took the figure to 250 g/km which is just inside the next lower band, but only just. Interesting that having air suspension saves 1 g/km over the standard suspension.

Might help someone configuring in the future. No use to me as the car is already built.

Why bother. Its only in the first year. It is part of the 'hit' in buying a new car..................
