Insurance quotes - premium jumps?

Just wondered if anyone has experienced the same ramp up this year

2017 turbo of value £45k, SW London
49 year old, clean license, 22 years NCB
(the expensive bit) 38 year old missus, 3 years on the road, one £2k claim fully recovered (cabbie took her wing mirror off)

Last year £900 with elephant
This year £1340 after complaining and knocking them down a bit
I got it down to £1200 by adding a 250 vol excess
One years has pased of claim free motoring (esp important for missus) but premium up 50% !!

With Covid19 their motor claims must be way lower (I am getting a £25 refund - woohoo) so is this just profiteering to recover covid19 business other insurance claims?

I have tried 3 comparison sites but happy to hear any other insurer suggestions if your circumstances are similar to mine.

If you haven't, then do try Confused.com

Having done extensive research quotes for our cars this year the RAC came out best value for money with LV= as the underwriter. they are Insured separately and not on a multi-car deal.

Took out on 2 May for my Macan SD and the premium was £326.49 with £450 Excess.
For my brand new GTS the quote was £376.39 with £500 Excess.

As a small bonus using Confused you currently get a £20 voucher to choose from - so I opted for £40 of Halfords.

My policy is due to renewal at the end of this month
This is my first Porsche and I have a 2020 Macan Turbo
My previous car was a GLC 63S
I'm 55 and my partner 52.
We live in sleepy East Yorkshire and both have many years NCB and clean licenses
The policy has a voluntary £250 excess but I was amazed at such a low renewal price...!

tried confused.com, moneysupermarket and comparethemarket

maybe it is just me, or rather maybe a spate of incidents where I live or some other demographic minefield I wandered into :(

Have you tried the likes LV, NFU and Privilege directly, from previous threads they seem to goods rates on Macan's

The comparison sites are not perfect and do not pick up the whole or best in market.

My £207 renewal shown above is with Privilege.
I've been with them for 4 years.
I always check on comparison sites but never get it cheaper.
Also you can manage policy online easily

Sadly, the leeches that are Insurance Companies are going to take our eyes out over the next few years.........................................in all areas, not just motor vehicle. They have to recoup their 43 million pound profits some how........... and as for the 'cost of living'.......................

OK, i'll get my hat....

Still with NFU although their prices went up this year I still couldn’t find anyone to match them, plus they let you use a Porsche Approved repairer if needed, unlike some Insurers
