So most Gts cars would have the newer pcm and any turbo cars assuming from 16 or 66 onwards? Having to cast my net a bit wider now to include the turbo apart from the engine is there much difference between the gts and turbo? I see a lot of the turbo cars with silver trim and the square exhaust tips. Personally not a fan of the square tips but I could probably live with chrome trim for the right car.
What are people’s thoughts on sport chrono? Looking through the vehicles im mostly discounting the vehicles without it, mainly due to the clock missing from the dash. There are some nice examples without chrono but im guessing it’s much better for resale value?
Cheers!

mark-yorkshire wrote: Fri Jun 05, 2020 6:25 pm Just read the whole of this thread. Just to add my 2cents I would advise not discounting cars without PASM. I am on my third Macan. First two were on 20” Spyders and my current car is on 21” Sports Classics. None have had PASM and the ride is perfectly fine even on our crappy West Yorkshire potholed roads. Have also had a 987 Cayman and 981 Boxster -again both without PASM - again the ride was fine. I have driven cars with PASM and honestly cannot tell the difference other than with PASM on the Sport setting it is too hard. I have just bought a 15 year old 987 Boxster with PASM and cannot say that it feels any different to the 987 Cayman I had without PASM.
It does affect px and resale values though
Cannot say I have ever noticed any effect on px values with my cars.

Chrome window trim would be a no go for me. You could get it wrapped but will cost a bit and I would worry about long term durability.

Sports Chrono is possibly the least used but most desired option on a second hand Macan. I have it on my GTS and really never use it but the centre clock looks so much better and sports plus is fun for the occasional burst of acceleration.

Gts 10 or 15mm lower from memory but others will be along to confirm. There was also a thread on there ages back that gave all the detail including figures for air equipped cars.

PASM doesn't affect the ride height. On steel springs, a turbo has a ground clearance of 205mm and a GTS 190mm. For completeness, on air the turbo ground clearance is 190mm and the GTS 180mm.

Seems like gts is 15mm Lower.

Do a search for GTS real world ride heights on this forum or google it and you will get a thread that gives all the detail you need.

Sorry don’t know how to link it in here!

Ride Height as a term is not much use unless there is a common point of reference. The Technical Data sheets on the configurator use ground clearance which is a common point. The only way to vary it (without modifying the suspension) is radically changing the tyre pressures so it's also a real world value.

Ah ok, great thanks for that. So the gts always rides lower no matter the suspension setup...Im struggling to understand the Turbo product, it sits at the top of the range but what does it offer over the gts other than a faster engine. Who’s it aimed at? As i see it, it seems the gts has a more focused design goal.
I was asking about ride height/suspension as the turbo visually always looks like it sits a bit higher to me.
Personally i think i prefer the lower stance which leaves my options at either gts pasm/air or turbo on air.
