Dan1210, you say that the seller denies any repairs being done to the car ?
I’m not defending the guy but a few years back a friend of mine bought a brand new Cayman from Porsche Glasgow and a few weeks after delivery put it in for a professional detail only to discover both rear wings had been resprayed.
After some investigation it turned out the car was damaged while being delivered to the showroom and repaired without my friend being advised.
Absolutely livid! Porsche Leeds.
That’s terrible! This car is being sold on a commission basis, the original owner is denying any work has been done. Honestly the bumper repair is so poor that I can’t see any reputable body shop being happy with it. So I’m sure he is aware of at least the front wing and bumper.
Whoever mentioned about the roof console being linked to the windscreen was bang on! Porsche Exeter informed me today that there was a windscreen repair at 2000 miles, seems they weren’t able to get this back tight.

Going back to the experience I relayed yesterday, the authorised repair centre told me that they have had cars in for repair that have not made it to the buyer due to damage occurring in transit
In such cases it will be highly likely that the buyer will have no knowledge of this. However, if repaired professionally, there should be no issue.

It’s a tough one because some will accept new paint and others won’t. When I took my Audi A4 special edition Quattro to webuyanycar (tough times) they had a device to measure the depth of paint. I’m sure had they found any issues they would use it to knock value off the car.
Regardless of what one or another person will accept, the biggest issue I would have is the potential effect on the warranty and the impact it may have on the future sale of the vehicle.Dan1210 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 11:07 am It’s a tough one because some will accept new paint and others won’t. Could you guys do me a favour and tell me if your bonnets run completely flush to the doors. My bonnet is slightly raised in comparison to the doors on both sides, one slightly more than the other.

The alignment, or lack of it, looks awful in the first photo. Can't really tell in the second photo because of the angle. On mine the line of the bonnet lines up with the top of the window sill trim
