hi team - simple query - wife Macan has done just 1,900 miles since September 2019 ( new car) info message has just come up oil service in 30 days or 8600miles

she has only driven short journeys - should this oil need service at such low mileage or is this a date info ?

Porsche centre states message is computer advisory due to short journeys so advice is to get it done - obviously I do not wish to pay for something that is not required

You and your wife will know how the car has been used. If it has been used regularly since last September then the short journeys comment from the dealer is probably appropriate.

If the car is only used for journeys 1-3 miles long then the oil will never warm up properly and will contain contaminants that would otherwise burn off. That would explain why the car's monitoring system is recommending an oil change. Just a word of warning, an oil and filter change at an OPC is not cheap.

Cold starts and short journeys don’t help, I’m guessing rarely gets above 2000rpm? You’ve paid a lot of cash out for the car, certainly whilst under warranty suggest you follow OPC advice. Definitely a candidate for next gen electric though. 👍

If you were to have an engine related problem after ignoring the advice you may find that PGB is less supportive.
