Looks nice, if you like the colour black. ;)

Slightly unusual for the ad not to feature the usual side-on view. Maybe even the OPC think the car has too much black?! :?

I think I might look for a 991.2 if within budget.

I do like the idea of the PCCB for the public road handling advantages, but I really do think they are too risky for me.
The repeatable stopping from high speed on track is also impressive, but the steels are also amazing with some more suitable pads and fluid.
Some track enthusiasts actually remove the PCCB for track use, to avoid the likely MASSIVE bill, should they have an off, or just crack them.
I just don’t think that technology is fully evolved yet.
Cheers, Red5.

Just a technical question, but aren’t brake discs normally made from iron, rather than steel (apart from the extension carbon/ceramic variety)? 🤓

That’s quite true. Cast iron of course.
I’m not sure where calling them steel came from. It must be just a popularised error / turn of phrase.

I think motorbike discs are more often steel though.

Thanks, Red5. Glad I’m not going mad. ;)

Although if I start correcting everyone who refers to them as ‘steels’ it might not go down too well... 😂

Discs vary in composition, particularly in road cars. Pure grey cast iron has the best coefficient of friction but corrodes badly. Nickel is often added to give some protection, as in stainless steels, but that is a compromise in braking performance due to less friction.

It looks good spec on paper.
I think that you would need to go and see it to check the condition and also determine if you would like 991.1 or 991.2. :)
