Some Motorway sections to be reduced to 60 mph in new "trial".

I'm old enough to remember Harold Wilson saying the new 70 mile/h limit was temporary.

I am all for 60 mph during busy periods

But 60 mph or even 70 mph on a quiet motorway is just stupid :? :?

8-) I'm old enough to remember driving on them when they were absolutely deserted in the 60s and 70s.

In fact very much like 5 months ago in April this year when they were again totally deserted even in broad daylight but due to covid. And much more fun like that for the enthusiast late at night too ;) :P

If as they say, the limits are being reduced due to pollution. Then surely EV's could still stick to the existing limits. No pollution.....

They would need charging quicker which isn’t pollution free ...

What's happened to the EU plan for all cars to be fitted with a limiter coupled to the road speed limits to prevent speeding. I thought it was imminent ?
